The Adremel's Fire Spear can be found in Darkness Falls. It can drop off of Grand Chancellor Adremel and Legion. Because of the +10 to Celtic Spear, this spear was a prized favorite of Spearos everywhere, until Spellcrafting, Alchemy, Shrouded Isles and Trials of Atlantis came out, when the old-world spears became pretty much obsolite. Still, this spear can pack a pretty nasty punch.

This spear was once called the Adremel's Fire Spear, but had its name and stats changed in a rescent patch. Click Here to see its old stats. The Adremel's Fire Spear is now EXTINCT.

The Ancient Stag Spine Spear can be found in the Cothrom Gorge. Northeast of Altan Garran there is a lake with a large waterfall. If you swim underneath the waterfall you will find a large cave, filled with all sorts of creatures. The Ancient Stag Spine Spear drops off of Dremics Fulloltalr, who stands near one of the stalagmites in the cave. He is a tough fellow and has a buddy named Beomarbhan who will attack you (along with a bunch of blood-clot looking things). Dremics will summon Beomarbhan over and over again, until Dremics himself dies. He is killable with two good groups, but it is better to have three. Dremics does not always drop the spear.

The Ancient Stag Spine Spear was changed when patch 1.62 went live. The image above is the updated version. Click here to see the old version of the spear.

There is a rather odd thing about this spear. Normally when you attack an enemy with a spear you will see the message, "You attack the <name of enemy> with your spear and hit for <such-and-such> damage!" But, with the Ancient Stag Spine Spear, it says, "You attack the <name of enemy> with your spine..." as can be seen in the screenshot here. I don't know if this is a glitch or not, but if it is, I hope they never fix it!

The Battle Spear of the Gale has become one of my all-time favorite spears. It can be found off of Eramai in Green Glades, a named Centar whom you get a quest from in order to get the Cloudsong cloak artifact. After you finish the quest you have to kill him to get the cloak, and he also has a chance to drop this spear.

It is a slow spear, 5.6, which means it hits harder. However, it also has 10% melee combat speed bonus! When used with other items that have increased combat speed, you can swing this spear incredibly fast. But probably the finest aspect of this spear, besides its awesome look, is the endurance heal. It procs just as much as any normal proc, but the endurance heal is a 50% heal. Lifesaving when soloing. When alone, I get the proc off of the Smouldering Ember, then switch to this spear. If I am lucky I can attack with styled damage the whole fight, even if it only procs once. If ever you can, get this spear!

The Dealrach Corcra Sleagh drops off of Maldahar the Glimmer Prince in Sheeroe Hills. He can spawn at three different places, for there are three little ruins that he appears at. This guy is fairly tough. You will need one full group at least to kill him and this group will have to be very well put together. You need a Warden, you need a shield Hero and then of course all the other necessities to a Hibernian group. Once you pull him (if you even can, usually he just agroes and rushes you) Maldahar will call all the glimmers in the area to help him. This is easy to take care of if you mezz the adds, have the shield hero take agro on Maldahar and engage him, and then kill the yellow, orange and red con adds one by one. If you have a mage with pbae, this should be easy work. Once these are dead your Hero will probably be hurting, so heal him up and rush in to help him. It will be a long fight but if you are on top of your heals he should fall. He doesn't drop this spear every time, but you have a 1 in 3 chance to get it.

Many thanks to Arsyn for giving me this wonderful spear!

The Cyclopean Cloud Skewer drops from The Tactician in Aerus City. In order to enter Aerus City, you must be finished with master level 8. When you give The Tactician the stone needed to activate him, he summones 6 marble statues that you must kill before you can kill him. Once you kill him, he has a chance to drop the spear.

The spear is ok. Nothing spectacular. One frustrating thing about it is that all other weapon drops in Aerus City have very nice, unique skins, but this spear has the old Srouded Isles twisted spear skin. I am guessing this was done because Mythic didn't want to take the time to create a new skin for a weapon that would only be used by one realm (and the red-headed step child realm at that). The other items, Large Weapons, one-hand slash weapons, hammers and maces, etc., use skins that Mythic copies and uses for other, similar weapons in the other two realm's version of Aerus City. So we will never get an Aerus skinned spear. Sad, but ah well. We still have some neat ones.

The Dealrach Liathghorm Spear drops off of Glimmer Orist in Sheeroe Hills. Upon entering the Hills, just follow the valley. There are no turns yet, just keep going. After a while you will reach a wooden barricade of pointy sticks. Beyond the barricade is a small clearing with a few glimmers around and, if he is up, Glimmer Orist. He cons blue and sometimes yellow to 50. He is easy to solo. He also has a chance to drop a scythe and a dagger. I killed him 4 times and got 3 daggers before he finally dropped the spear. He also has a chance to drop nothing at all, and has a rather long respawn. So if you are camping him, bring a good book, hehe.

The Smoldering Ember can be found in Darkness Falls and drops off of Princess Nahemah, and possibly other bosses. This spear is one of my favorites because of its proc. I use this every day in PvE. The proc will raise my quickness as high as red Druid dex/qui spec will, which makes me swing extremely fast (faster than one-hand slash users, when I wield short or long spears), and to top it all off, the proc lasts 10 minutes or until you die. An excellent spear when you are soloing or grouped with druids with low nurture. I would not use it in RvR, however, for chance encounters are sometimes few and far between.

The Forgotten Hero's Spear of Oblivion has got to be one of the rarest spears in the game simply because it is so hard to get. This spear drops off of Myrddraxis the Hydra, the boss of Fomor. He is an extraordinarily difficult encounter. He has a body and 4 other heads. At 50% health all his heads lifetap each other making him nearly impossible to kill. A good strategy is to use siege, lots of it, to keep all 5 parts of the hydra in combat at all times. When all heads are dead disengage using siege equipment and melee the body down. If siege gets the final hit he will drop no loot.

The hydra drops other items besides this spear, many of which are unknown, but this spear is by far one of the coolest in the game. It is the only spear with the "arrowhead" model in old Shrouded Isles. The stats and proc are descent, which makes this spear a pretty descent spear for RvR use. It's a fast spear which means it hits softer than a slower one, but such spears are great for Lurikeen Heroes or folks who rely on speed more than might. Overall this is just a real fun spear to use and will recieve many glances!

Click here to see a close-up of the spear. If I were to change anything, I would take the "Oblivion" out of the name of the spear. I don't know why, but I think "Forgotten Hero's Spear" sounds much better than "Forgotten Hero's Spear of Oblivion". Too wordy.

The Fossilized Manta Spine drops off of Windskimmer, an orange-red con flying manta on the new island of Allta Ferrann. He roams the full length of the river, from the pond on the east side of the island all the way to the river's entrance on the north side.

He is a very random spawn. Sometimes he spawns immediately after being killed, and other times he wont spawn for the whole day. Another irritating factor is that he has a rare chance of dropping the spear. He first of all has a rare chance to drop anything (every time I have killed him he has dropped nothing but coins). Then, he has at least 2 other items that he has a chance to drop: an Animist staff and a scythe. You will be very lucky indeed to have the spear drop the first time you kill him. I would suggest asking around, to see if any other folks are camping he river. Perhaps they are hunting the scythe and happened to get the spear. You can buy it off them that way. Or check the housing consignment merchants often enough and one is bound to show up.

If you do decide to farm one yourself, I wish you the best of luck and infinite patience (or a good book!)

Many thanks to Noleex, who was hunting for a scythe but got the spear instead and gave it to me. Good luck on finding the scythe!

The Gloom Warder's Spear is probably one of the best and rarest spears in the game. It drops off of Cuuldrach the Glimmer king, Hibernia's dragon, and as you can imagine, it is pretty hard to get. As of this posting, after ten or so dragon kills, only 2 have dropped in the history of Percival. So if you want this spear, find some fantastic dice, or really good friends, hehe. I had to trade the Protector of Weary Souls, an extraordinarily rare glowing large shield with a lifetap proc, to get this spear. *cries* I liked that shield! *sniff* But its the spear that matters, yesss preciousss, its all about the spearsss.

As for the spear itself, other than the fast speed, it is an exceptional weapon. The lifetap proc is truly amazing, and while it probably wont decide the outcome of a large-scale battle or even an 8 on 8 skirmish, it is lifesaving in a duel. The spear is a long spear and so hits much faster than a hooked or barbed spear, and due to this it theoretically hits softer, but when I have used it I have found it hitting no softer than my Verdant Spear, the one I formed my template after. So this is a pretty good spear. Now some would say it is a lady's spear, and I could understand this statement, for it is a rather... purple weapon and the glow is kind of... lavender... but dammit, I like this spear! The glow, I think, is one of the best on any weapon in the game, despite its color. Lady's spear or not, it is a fine weapon to use by any mighty Spearo!

The Primal Waterwalker's Trident drops off of the Corrupt Primal of Water, one of the four Primals in the final Galladoria encounter. Compared to the other four Primals, the Corrupt Primal of Water is easy. Upon entering the final room, stay with the raid at the top of the root and he will simply attack you. If he drops out of sight, have the person with agro pull him down the root onto the island, then back up in order for the raid to attack him. Simply overwhelm him and he falls fast.

Sadly however, this spear is a rare drop from the Primal. After killing him at least 20 times on Percival, this spear has only dropped twice (the spear above is the second one on the server). So, if you want this spear, I wish you a large raid, few competing Spearos and a lot of luck!

As for the spear itself, it is pretty descent. As far as tridents go it is nice, but the charge is horrid. The last thing a spear needs is a charge of any kind, let alone one of haste. Still, the stats are nice and it is a very pretty spear.

This spear can be received from the Marauding Bandits Quest, a quest from the ToA expansion.

To get the quest, talk to Ranger Relion at the Haven of Stygia. He will ask you to search a nearby marauder camp for some old crates. Head north from the Haven until you see a river. Cross the river, and you will see piles of dirt scattered around with mobs nearby. There is a very hard grape-con mob called Itet right near the pile you need to search, so be careful. You will know that you are at the right camp when you enter a region, "Marauder Camp". If you are grouped, ungroup and /search. Once you finish searching, a red-con marauder will spawn, whom you must kill. After you are done, bring the crate back to Ranger Relion in the Haven of Stygia. He will then relay to you a story of how his precious golden statue was stolen, so you must now go and find this statue.

"The camp is tin the Stygian Delta, near the Land of Atun. You will find a large rock outcropping near a setian fortress. /search the ground for the statue." the exact /loc for this stone is 22737, 22462 in the Stygian Delta. You must be ungrouped when /searching for this to work. Once you /search, another red-con monster will appear, whom you must kill. Once you get the statue, head back to Ranger Relion and hand it to him. This is what he says: "Has it been done then?" (show him the statue) "Excellent! Well, here you are, for all your hard work. Use it well, I must be going. Lots of work to do before I sail." he gives you a very crappy ring. So then take this ring to Elder Daewyn, who is in one of the nearby huts, a big spear hero in epic armor. When you talk to him he will say, "I have watched you help Relion pillage the Sobekites and the Setians for their religious artifacts. By the look in your eyes, you did not know this was the business Relion was in did you? But how can I know that for certain, eh?" Tell him that you are innocent. "Ha!" he will say, "And do you really expect me to believe this? Ah, but there is one way you can clear your name with me. Hand me the item Relion rewarded you with." It wont be hard to part with the ring, trust me. "Is this the prize he gave you for your service? Bah! I will make sure this makes its way to the blacksmith to be turned into something useful for the citizens of this haven. But you have proven that you are not truly black of heart. I will trust that you were nothing more than an unwitting pawn in Relion's schemes. For you, I will award this. But remember, I will be keeping an eye on you." He hands you a smith token. "Now leave. I have much to do with Relion and his cohort, Cayne. If I ever see you poaching or pillaging around here again, you will be hanged with these two in the gallows. Take this token to Shibeel. She will help you from here."

Of course poor Relion is never actually hanged, for I doubt the Haven has any gallows to begin with, but that doesnt matter, you almost have the spear. Talk to the smith Shibeel, who is standing in one of those open gazeebo-like things in the Haven. Give her the totem and she will give you a choice of weapons. Choose the spear, and you will get it. She says she is loathe to give it away, but I dont see why. Its not a very good spear at all. 15.6 dps is horrid =\

The Spear of Victory drops off of Balor in Tur Suil. This by far is one of the rarest spears in Hibernia. All unique weapons from Balor are rare, which makes getting this spear incredibly frustrating. I have led countless Tur Suil raids over the span of many months (ever since Shrouded Isles was released) and it has yet to drop on any of my raids. I think only 2 exist on Percival and they both dropped a long time ago.

Its a pretty nice spear. It is slow which means it hits hard (not as slow as the new crafted exceptional or fortified spears though). The stats are good enough to craft a template after. The proc is only any good when you don't have a Druid around. This has become one of my new favorite spears when soloing. Usually when soling I will use my Ember until I get the dex/qui proc then switch to this spear to get the haste proc. It only lasts a minute but procs often enough to be useful.

Despite the usefulness of this spear, only actively go after it if you are looking forward to a lot of frustration and heartache.

The Spectral Impaler drops off of the Spectral Manslayers, who can be found west of Dun Bolg, or more commonly found in the Cursed Forest. They like to roam at Granny Hill, near the tower where Green Maw spawns, and con yellow, orange and sometimes red at level 50. It is not a terribly rare drop; if you camp the grannies long enough and kill enough Manslayers, you are bound to get one.

The best thing about this spear, besides the nice color of the glow, is that the spear itself is colorless! You can remove the enamel on Galladoria spears, but this is the only one I know of that already drops without color. A fantastic looking spear with descent stats and which is relatively easy to get. I love spears like that ;)

The Trident of Light and the Trident of Night can be found in Lough Gur. They drop off of the Melancholic Faerie Queen and her Guards.

The best way to get to her is to head southeast from Innis Carthage. You will see a hill before you. At the top of the gentle slope is the zone wall. When you hit the zone wall, head southwest - west and follow it. After a long walk you will see a small hill to the right with a well at the top. Around the well fly dozens upon dozens of Melancholic Faeries.

These pesky buggers con blue, yellow and orange to 50, their Militant siblings conning orange, and rarely red or even purple at 50. The Queen herself is a rare spawn. There are no secrets to get her to spawn. You just have to wait. You can wait between 30 minutes to three hours for her to spawn. She may even take more than three hours, but that is the longest I have ever waited. When she does spawn, a blue text message will appear talking about wings flapping and trumpets sounding, and then the Queen will appear over her well with 2 bodyguards.

During the day, the Queen cons yellow to orange, and she drops a myriad of things including the Trident of Light. During the night, however, she cons red to purple, as do her guards, but if you kill her at night she drops the Trident of Night. Because of all the agro, you need a good group or more to kill her during the day, and a full group or more, maybe two even to kill her during the night. You can do it with much less people if everyone is level 48+ and you clear agro and continually keep it down. Since the Queen dodges all arrows and cannot be pulled, I suggest taking your group(s), clearing all the small faeries (which may take some time) and then camp the well at the top of the hill. Faeries will spawn in numbers, so you will have to be quick about killing them.

At night the rate of faerie spawn is greatly increased, so you may not want to camp the well if you have only a few groups during the night. Once the queen spawns it will then be a simple matter of F8 + /stick and then mashing your style button to kill her. She will disappear completely within ten seconds if you do not engage her. Even after all that, she has a chance not to drop it. They are a pain in the rear spears to get, and its not even that good, but, if I may say so, they are some of the best-looking spears in the game.

Thanks to Renchessi for the Trident of Light, and thanks to Theridin and his guild, Bound by Honor for the Trident of Night. Both spears were gifts, and grand ones at that!

The Sun Spear is one of the most curious spears around. It can only be obtained if you have the Belt of the Sun artifact. Once you get the artifact and the three scrolls (Scholar's Notes 1, 2 and 3), you must then level it. It levels off of killing any enemies during daytime hours (8:00 am - 8:00 pm). Luckly, this is very easy to do, and so it will only take a few weeks to level it to level 10.

Once the belt is at level 10, you may now summon weapons. You may only summon weapons during daytime hours. To summon weapons, equip the belt. Wait 15 minutes (equipping or de-equiping the belt resets the recast timer). Then, right click on the belt and type "/use2". Make sure the first page of your inventory is empty or else you will not get the items. If all works, your inventory will be filled with a dozen or so weapons, one of which is the Sun Spear.

This spear is a fabulous tool. First, of course, there is no limit how many times you can summon it, and so as long as you have your Belt of the Sun you will always have this spear. You will never have to repair it and you never have to worry about accidentially destroying it. In addition, the spear is actually a very nice weapon. The best thing about it is its energy based damage. This means that when you attack an enemy, it uses your enemy's energy resists to calculate how much damage you do to him. So, for instance, if you fought an enemy that had capped thrust resists you would normally do very little damage with your spear, but if that very same person had low energy resists, because this spear is also energy based, you would hit him for much harder.

In PvE this is very useful as well, for there are some monsters that are immune to melee. However, since the Sun Spear also does energy damage, it will not be immune to you. So while all of your friends are hitting for 1 damage, you can hit for 150-200 a pop.

The only drawback is that if you die during the night or log off, you lose the spear. But these are trivial matters and can be worked around. It has become my favorite weapon for PvE, for now I never have to beat up my rare spears ever again!

This spear was changed in patch 1.68. The stats and screenshot to the left reflects this change. Click Here to see the old version.
(This weapon will vanish if its bearer dies at nighttime or quits)

The Squall Shadowed Spear drops off of Lord Tholos in Arbor Glen. You must kill Lord Tholos to complete ML8.9. He is in a floating temple filled with statues. You have to activate the smaller ones around him first, killing them one by one until Lord Tholos himself comes to life. You usually need at least 2 good groups, but one exceptional group can pull it off. The spear drops frequently, although it may take one or two kills for it to drop.

It does not glow and uses the Twisted Spear Shrouded Isles skin, which Mythic seems to really like for some reason. The bonus to AF is nice, but this can also be achieved via accessories and really shouldn't take up room on a spear. The only really nice thing about the spear is the endurance heal proc, but the Battle Spear of the Gale has a better one. It isn't a bad spear, but it isn't all that good either.

Ah, the Verdant Spear, the King of Spears and my preciousss! This, my friends, is the best dropped spear in the game, as far as I am concerned. If I were to change it, however, I would make the speed equivalent to that of a barbed or twisted spear, 5.7, instead of 5.0, that way it would hit harder. Still, it is a very, very hard-hitting spear. The proc is an area-of-effect, fire direct damage, which can be dangerous. If you aren't careful it will break roots and mezzes in combat. I usually do not have a problem though when chasing healers and casters around, hehe. I wish it had a better proc, but the one it has is descent. This spear can drop off of any monster in Galladoria, Hibernia's epic dungeon. It drops on almost every raid I have been to, sometimes dropping twice. This weapon can be dyed using Galladoria weapon dyes only. It comes naturally a royal blue color, and since it matches my scheme perfectly, I have not had the desire to change its color.

Thanks to Endath and Demetrie for helping me get the spear.

The Vine Covered Trident is an excellent epic quality spear. It also drops in Galladoria, and can be dyed using Galladoria weapon dyes only. It comes naturally black, as you see it. The tip glows a soft white and, I have heard, is supposed to smoke at the tip, but the smoke effect was mistakenly taken away in a previous patch. The lifedrain proc is devastating in RvR and is the main reason this spear is so good. Lurikeen Spearos especially like the Trident because of its fast speed. It does not hit very hard at all, but is fast and, thus, has a greater chance of firing its proc against an enemy in battle. This spear is also an excellent spear to solo with, for if you are a good Spearo you can tank yellows and oranges without being scratched, and if you do get scratched the proc will heal you. A combination of the Smoldering Ember proc and this spear makes you quite an efficient soloer.

With the release of Trials of Atlantis came a new type of spear; the Legendary Spear. These are player crafted spears imbued with specific items from Atlantis to turn the weapon into a "legendary" one. There are 4 different types of each weapon, thus there are 4 different types of spears. Here is a list of the ones that I have.

All stats on all Legendary Spears remain constant no matter the quality of the spear, which is random. Juts like regular player-crafted spears, it is rare to get a 100% quality Legendary Spear, and the lowest quality a Legendary Spear can reach is 94. This only effects the overall damage of the spear. Dps, Spd and Magical Bonuses are not effected by the spear's quality.

Note: as of patch 1.68, new legendary spears will have new stats, while spears crafted before the patch will stay as they were. The only change is this: pre-patch spears will have the same stats, only the "Bonus to melee damage vs. <monster>" will be 8%, and the "bonus to AF" will be 7. Post-patch spears will be made with "Bonus to melee damage vs. <monster>" at 2%, with the "Bonus to AF" at 10. Three of my spears, Lithic, Benthic and Tempestuous were made pre-patch and one of them, my Pyroclasmic, was made post patch. Im leaving them up this way so you can compare the two versions.

Thuxra's Twiggy Spear is a fun little thing. It drops off of Thuxra the Cackler at 20, 11 in Cothrom Gorge. I never thought of adding this spear to my page before because it doesnt glow, has no unique skin and, well, sucks. But I absolutely love the name, so it went up!

Thuxra is immune to all melee damage. But if you use a legendary weapon or the Sun weapons from the Belt of the Sun, they count as magical damage and thus, he is not immune to it. I duoed this fine fellow with a bard friend. He is annoying though, for he evades like a mad man and every time he does he says, "Haha can't hit me!" hence why he is called the cackler I suppose. Every now and again he will stagger around confused, and then he can't evade you and you can land a hit. He dropped the spear the third time I killed him. Strangely enough, this spear can be dyed with Galladoria or Trials of Atlantis weapon dyes. I do not know why anyone would want to waste a rare weapon dye on this spear... but you can if you want!

This spear is quite a beauty, and drops off of the Melos Wave Lord in Mesothalassa. The stats arent bad for a 99% qua spear. The bonus 14 to AF is very nice, but I do not think that is reason enough to use this spear over the many other great ones on this page.

The Melos Wave Lord likes to bury himself in the sand, so be careful. It is entirely possible to swim right over him without knowing it and get attacked (not like it has ever happened to me... nope, not me...) He is tricky but can be taken down with a fairly strong group. He also drops a LW version of this weapon.

The Soul Leech drops off of Bisul in Green Glades. Bisul is the named djinn fellow that you need to kill for Master Level 8. He is annoying, but once you figure out how to kill him, he is nice to farm for items. He often drops two of the "Soul <name>" weapons, so it is entirely possible to get two Leeches in one fight.

Once you attack him and get him low, he runs off in a south-west direction. Follow him and you will find him in some temple ruins surrounded by statues. He awakens three statues and you must kill these before you can hurt Bisul again. The statues hurt, so make sure your raid assists you and takes them down one by one. And yes, you will need a raid (or at least 2 VERY good groups). He does this twice more with two more sets of statues and after that, you can kill him. Just hope he drops the spear!

This spear drops off of Kirkleis, one of the bosses you must kill for Master Level 1. The spear is fairly easy to get and a rather handy tool for both PvE and RvR. It isn’t the most exceptional spear but it isn’t bad either. It is also fairly common,  if you want it check your market explorers first. That’s how I found mine!

Sometimes you can get really lucky, and this time I did! I found this spear on a consignment merchant and snatched it up fast. I reaaaaally didn't want to have to kill Cyrek for it in Arbor Glen. Way too much of a hassle. Bleh. Anyhow I finally got it and love it. If I could change anything, I'd make it a royal blue color (how'd you guess?) and not teal. Who likes teal? Teal is the illegitimate shade of the blue family. The image to the left is an updated image, but you can still see Chizra's image by clicking the spear icon to the right. The Great Spear of Detonation is, apparently, much greater than the Spear of Detonation. But in my opinion, neither spear is that great. I really liked the Spear of Detonation because of its rare Ribcatcher skin, but this great spear is just another generic twisted spear skin. I mean come on, Mythic created so many new ToA spears, you would have thought they would have used a greater variety of the old SI skins (since they didn't bother to create any unique ToA ones) but noooo, they have to stick with the twisted skin. Blesh.

But never mind me, I'm just ranting, and being quite petty as well. I like the whole base-of-the-spear glow, but that’s it. The spear is "meh". Unless your a spear fanatic who collects them for novelty purposes only (like me), dont bother with this one. But if you wish to bother, you can get it from Ghita, the Master Level 8 boss in Arbor Glen. She can be found just south of the hall with the statues inside lining the walls, for the ML8 trial. I have killed her with three people. Have a shield tank run out and get arrow agro from the bow-wielding statues, run up and whack a few to get em in melee, back up and have a PBaE caster kill the ones you pulled. Rinse and repeat until all archers are dead, then melee down Ghita. You may or may not get this twisted piece of spearishisness.

Why kill yourself over artifacts when you can get a spear like this? Weapons like this make the incredible time and effort put into finding, assembling and leveling artifacts a complete waste of time. Probably the best spear in the game, the Astral Voltaic Battle Spear drops off of Scorpious, and possibly also the two bosses before him.

This spear is amazing, made purely for RvR purposes. Against an enemy player you have the chance to do up to 4% extra damager per styled hit. Imagine chasing down a tasty chain-wearing cleric with this baby. In addition to that, take a look at the proc. Not very impressive at first -- only an energy DD, but every time it procs it summons a "turret".

The turret is invisible and acts like an energy storm. It will attack your target multiple times for close to 100 damage a tic, depending on your target's energy resists. After testing it, I have seen the turret last long enough to cast between 1 and 4 times, and it may even cast more than that. I have never seen a proc like this before on any other weapon, and in my opinion it is one of the most useful procs, besides maybe endurance heal procs.

The only disappointing  factor with this spear is its skin. Yes, it is nice, but has been used too often for other spears. As a drop from a Master Level 10 creature, I was expecting something more elegant and cruel. Ah well.

A truly fantastic spear, it is rare, but not as rare as many others shown on this page. If you want it, attend every ML10 raid you possibly can, and hope for the best.

**NOTE: I am not sure when, but sometime between the release of New Frontiers and now, they stealth-nerfed this spear. Now it does not summon a turret, but merely casts a very high powered energy AE proc. I HATE AE procs because they break mezzes and roots. Grrrrr...

This spear drops in Volcanus, in the taur city you need to raid in order to get the Bruiser artifact. I am not certain which taur drops it, but I think it is called the Taur Foreman. If someone knows, please tell me so I can post it here.

This spear was a gift I was given while leading a Galladoria raid, for which I am very grateful!

The skin is the generic and way overused twisted spear skin, and the glow is a fairly nice white glow at the base of the spear head. It is not something you would want to form a template with, but it is great for thwacking monsters during a raid.

This spear drops off of Drevaul in the Passage of Conflict. He is around level 70 or so and you will need a good group or two to thwack him.

With the release of New Frontiers, the old RvR dungeons -- Marfach Caverns, The Halls of the Corrupt, Dodens Gurva and the Summoner's Hall -- have been deleted and replaced with the Passage of Conflict. In so doing they have deleated the bosses that were in the old dungeons, and have thus made extinct any items they have ever dropped. So now there are two spears that are extinct because of this, the Prismatic Spear and the Noble Arcane Spear. Extinct spears are always a sad thing! Ah well. At least they replaced them with this spear. The only remarkable thing about it is the endurance heal, which makes it better than both the old frontier dungeon spears. Other than that, there is little about this spear to brag about. It is one of the few spears to use the wavy spear skin, however, and I do not think I have ever found a spear of this color.
